Can we put a custom message in the FC cart (2.0) above their shipping options?

Client wants to add a custom message right above (or below) the shipping info in the cart so they can tell customers there is a slight lead time before products ship:

Here above or below the shipping options:

Is that possible? If so, is there any snippets or documentation in the FC wiki?

Foxycart Safe Harbor question

Can the consent checkbox be defaulted to "checked" so that my European customers don't have to click on another box?

(I'm posting this over here in the forum, rather than on the blog post, since the blog post comments require either disquist, Facebook, or something like that. What a pain...)

Add tiered rate shipping to cart

Has anyone had experience adding a tiered rate shipping to the cart, as in
Orders < $25, regular shipping is $5, priority mail $7
$25 to 100, regular shipping is $7, priority mail $10
$100- to $150 , regular shipping is $10, priority mail $14
>$150 free
These are just example rates.

I see where you can add code for custom shipping, but not how it's configured.

staging site versus live site

Is it accurate to conclude that we need 2 foxycart stores: one for our staging site and another for our live site?

We're running continuous development and refinements and push regularly from staging to live.

So I imagine we would not be able to toggle between the two base url domains and still have the live site operate. So we need to sites, two base url's always. Yes?

Foxy Shop/Foxy Cart Issue

I need someone with foxyshop expertise to help troubleshoot custom order for products page on a Foxy Shop installation. I am having trouble sorting the products. I have set the order that I want in the sort order page. I have set the order to be "Custom Order" in the settings page. but the order is not being acknowledged on the front end. I am willing to pay a developer to help -- is anyone available?

Manually altering cart weight in 2.0?

Hello-
I'm finally buckling down to try and update my site to use FC 2.0.
I have some custom code that tries to account for the weight of packaging materials and uses

FC.checkout.config.orderLiveRateShipmentWeight

to add to the weight of the items. As far as I can tell this is no longer supported in 2.0 - is that definitely the case?
If so, has anybody tackled this issue?

Mike

Export all transactions

Hi,
Trying to export all of our transaction data. The issue that I'm running into is that we have 400+ transactions and the export function only seems to export the number of entries on the page, which has a maximum of 300 records per page. So, how am I able to download our complete transaction history?

Is there interface to Shipworks or Acctivate inventory?

Is there a interface to Shipworks or Acctivate inventory for downloading orders for shipping?.
I saw the one that uses OrderDesk but that seems like an extra layer / overkill .

Add AutoMagiCache support for HTTPS (TLS / HSTS)

I previously raised an issue about the lack of support for AutoMagiCache fetching templates from sites running strictly over TLS (HTTPS). However, it was part of a separate thread relating to canonical link tag handling.

I have linked to that discussion above, but opened this separate thread specific to HTTPS support.

AutoMagiCache + canonical link tag handling

Just a thought, AutoMagiCache automatically strips the <base> tag (understandably so), perhaps it should be stripping <link rel="canonical">, too?

Example:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://domain.com/path.to.custom.twig.template.html">
Not sure it does any good having it on the FC Checkout markup, and ideally would not reveal the location of the custom Twig URL. One could argue to simply remove from the cacheable template, but figured I'd throw out the idea of automatically stripping it from the HTML since I know other things are currently being stripped, too.

Child Product not being removed from cart when parent product is

This is my code:
<form class="nice" action="https://nameofstore.foxycart.com/cart&quot; method="post" accept-charset="utf-8">

<input type="hidden" name="name" value="Tape" />
<input type="hidden" name="price" value="15.60" />
<input type="hidden" name="code" value="180" />
<input type="hidden" name="weight" value="" />
<input type="hidden" name="discount_quantity_amount" value="Quantity Discount{allunits|12-0.32|50-0.62|100-3.12|250-5.2}" />
<h4><label class="label_left">Enter the width in inches:</label></h4>
<input type="text" name="quantity" value=""/>

<input type="hidden" name="2:name" value="Cutting" />
<input type="hidden" name="2:price" value=".50" />
<input type="hidden" name="2:code" value="cuts" />
<input type="hidden" name="2:parent_code" value="180" />
<h4><label class="label_left">Enter number of cuts needed:</label></h4>
<input type="text" name="2:quantity" value=""/>

<input type="submit" name="Add To Cart" value="Add To Cart" class="submit button" />
</form>

Everything seems to pass to the cart including the parent code, but when I remove the parent, I expect the child to be removed as well. Isn't that what's supposed to happen? It's not. :(

The store is still at 1.1. Would love to upgrade but not sure it's in the budget yet.

How to add products

I'm new to this whole thing. I don't understand how to add my products. Or how to configure my products to work with this.
This has probably been asked a million times and I'm sorry to ask again. But can someone please point me in the right direction. I have read over the guides on the website but I just don't understand it.

Basically I need to set up my products on my website so that a customer can click on the buy now or add to cart. My product has photos and specs and descriptions on the webpage already. I just need to know how to make it work with Foxycart.

Google analytics not tracking to cart (but conversion is showing on receipt page)

We just did a foxycart upgrade from 0.71 to 2.0 and installed the GA code per the Foxycart documentation for 2.0

Here is the response from the client:
So the analytics code is firing off an event, but can't trace it back to the source click (say an adwords ad or organic search) because we lose the referrer/full query string in URL when going from sitedomain.com -> checkout -> sitedomain.foxycart.com/receipt where the conversion event actually fires.
I can whisper the store name if you need it.

TimeOut errors with Amazon Payments

I have a customer trying to checkout using Amazon payments, and they keep getting errors. Here's what I found:
FoxyCart error log:
Error: Your payment was declined for the following reason: TransactionTimedOut

Amazon Seller Central:
Decline Reason
Amazon could not process your request within the timeout value you provided in your integration. Try collecting payment later, or contact your development team to assist you with increasing the timeout value for your intergration.

Help! Am I missing something obvious? How can I help her to place her order?

Note: I sent a request to support yesterday, but no one has gotten back to me, and I need to get back to this customer.

Get the name of an item being removed from the cart?

$

Suppose I want to warn customers when they remove certain items from their cart.

Our store sells highly configurable electronics. For example, if they get a cellular base station, then, they need to also buy a wireless plan. Otherwise the merchant will be getting an angry call from a frustrated customer.

So I'd like to warn a customer when they try to remove certain items from their cart.

So I tried this code from your cheatsheet:

FC.client.on("cart-item-remove", function (params) {
if (params.itemPrice == 0) {
alert("You cannot remove free products from your cart");
return false;
}
});

But I don't understand how `params` really works. It seems to just be an ID.

Is there a way I can use something like the code above to get the actual name or category of the item being removed?

SSO v1.1 - Pull Shipping Addresses from MODX prior to checkout screen

$

Maybe I am missing something key in the documentation.

I need to pull a list of saved addresses a customer has in my MODX site prior to the Checkout page loading. With JQuery, I am going to process these into a typeahead select box so that the user can choose which of their saved addresses to ship the order (no MultiShip, each checkout can only go to one address).

Some clients have a lot of addresses, so much that it errors out any attempt to make a cookie of the addresses, so I cannot pass them through cookies.

How do I pass the array of addresses as a hidden custom field using a PHP endpoint? I see how to check Authentication in the SSO php endpoint, but I am having trouble figuring out how to send along the custom data from a PHP script.

FoxyCart Error Message "Duplicate Transaction"

$

Hi,

Can I prevent FC from telling the user they have a duplicate transaction? I was doing some checkout tests on our website and my saved credit card had an outdated expiration date so FC gave me the error "MMYY". That was all good. Then I entered the same card again but with the new updated expiration date, but this time FC told me I had a “duplicate transaction” and wouldn’t allow me to continue checkout. This is not conducive to sales and as a user I would be annoyed. Any way to fix this?

Thanks,
Karen

state field sometimes won't change at checkout

$

Multiple customers have reported a problem with updating the state field in checkout since we upgraded to v2.0. This has caused several instances of address validation errors and fulfillment errors due to invalid shipping address. Having recently changed addresses myself, I have also encountered the same problem on my own customer account with our store and have been able to do some diagnostics on it. Here is what is happening:

1. Customer logs in to account at checkout and their shipping address pre-populates.
2. The populated shipping address has the wrong state for the current address, and appears to populate the state associated with a previously saved address. In my case, I moved from Minnesota to Maryland. I had changed the shipping address on my account, and then when logging back into the account again later, my Maryland shipping address appears correctly but with Minnesota as the state.
3. When the customer attempts to update the state field to the correct address and uses the DROP DOWN select options, the field automatically reverts back to the pre-populated selection whenever a new state is selected and an to move to the next field is made. In my case, the state field persists in reverting back to Minnesota no matter how many times I attempt to change it with the select dropdown.

I have found two ways of circumventing this bug. One is to manually type in the name of the state in the state field and tab away from it. The other is to change the country field selection to a different country, and then change it back to US, which will clear out all of the city, state and postcode fields -- after which a new state can be selected. This sticky

I do not know if this is a browser specific thing, but have been using Chrome to test this. If you want to take a look at this yourself on our store, I can allow you to use my account with a UOE password to see the bug in action. Please fix this as soon as you're able to. It has continued to cause some of our customers much frustration at checkout. Let me know if I can help with any more info. Thanks!

Modx & HMAC

Has anybody successfully inegrated the HMAC Product Verification with modx using snippets for includes? I am trying to encrypt links and the moment $hash = hash_hmac('sha256', urldecode(?$test), $secret); is braking my snippet. Also where do I get the secret from?

Anyhelp here would be greatly appreciated.
